What does the BGMC mean to you?
Music lifts me up, and making music
with the men of the BGMC is a weekly dose of joy for me. It's hard
work. But when we get to know the music well enough that Reuben can
shape the sound - when he can dance on the podium and trust that we're
following him - it's like flying with your voice.
What has been your favorite BGMC concert or experience and why?
In
Wroclaw Poland, our concert was part of the concert hall's season
subscription series. There was a cluster of people in the middle of the
audience with all the best subscriber seats who at the start of the
concert were clearly not amused to be there. I'm guessing they did not
choose to buy a ticket for our concert, but just came because we were
part of the series — lots of grumpy frowns. By the end of the
concert, most of them were on their feet applauding. |

What has been your favorite BGMC concert or experience and why: Performing at the wedding of one of the plaintiff couples from the Goodridge decision on May 17, 2004. It was such a historic moment, and it is always an honor to be able to put such a positive face on the GLBT community. |

Little known fact about yourself:
I am a wiz with power tools!
Why is BGMC important to you:
I joined the BGMC after my 10+ year relationship ended. I had lost the “music” in my life and joining the BGMC helped me find it again. The Chorus has become an important part of my life not only because of the friendships and music but because of the great work we do. It sounds really sappy, but singing with the BGMC is the most gay affirming thing I have ever done!
Favorite BGMC experience:
I most enjoy our outreach concerts where we sing to folks that may not normally see us and it is so intimate you can actually see the power of the music take over the audience! Talk about touching people’s hearts with our music! |
